The Home Runs of the 1936 Milwaukee Brewers
Volume 17, Number 3 of the American Association Almanac • Bonus Issue • Accounting for the Home Runs of the 1936 Milwaukee Brewers Published Dec. 15, 2021 In the spring of 2021 the American Association Almanac published a detailed account describing the home run production of four teams whose output established the franchise record. In the case of the 1936 Milwaukee Brewers, two home runs were missing, and as a result conclusions based on the data were incomplete. This has now been remedied. In September, 2021 microfilm for the Milwaukee Journal established that the missing home runs were hit May 3, 1936 by Brewer outfielder Tedd Gullic and second baseman Eddie Hope. In addition, two home runs were also hit in the game by Louisville infielder Jerry Adair. These home runs did not appear in any other box scores, and yet their team's respective totals reflected them.
